The AQUANOPANIC System

and

the system application

The original challenge was to develop a time-saving and promising reef maintenance system.

The result is a 2-component care system with which a consumption-oriented dosage of all essential elements is accomplished.

Component 1

The first component (Organo Calcium Plus) contains the alkaline earth metals calcium, magnesium and strontium, which are very important for every reef aquarium, as well as the "hydrogen carbonate" required for pH stability in the form of organic compounds. Available as a ready-to-use solution or as a solid for self-mixing.

Available as a 1000 ml ready-to-use liquid or as a powder to prepare max. 5000 ml liquid.

Special size on demand at your dealer.

Always store the prepared solutions and Organo Calcium Plus protected from light - no preservatives are used, so any contamination or exposure to light can greatly reduce the shelf life of the solutions!!!

Component 2

The second component (Nature Elements) consists of all the important elements that are consumed in the running reef aquarium: macro elements such as: boron, iodine, fluorine but also trace elements such as: manganese, iron or nickel.

Available as ready-to-use liquid in 250ml, 500ml and 1000ml

The application of the AQUANOPANIC system is very easy, but there are some important points to consider.

A basic distinction must be made between whether you are already running a reef aquarium stocked with consumers (corals), which is supplied with a calcium reactor or the Balling method, for example, or whether you are setting up a new aquarium and are currently in the running-in phase.

Start with the AQUANOPANIC system for new aquariums:

Determine the starting dosage for Organo Calcium Plus on the basis of your aquarium net water volume (usually about 80% of the aquarium gross volume) and start the dosage according to the dosage instructions until you measure a stable carbonate hardness (alkalinity) of ideally 7 (6.5-8).

We recommend using our calculator to help – just in german language available!

Start with a daily dosage of 5 ml Organo CALCIUM Plus solution pro 100 l net aquarium volume.

Increase the dosage daily by 20% of the starting dosage until you measure a stable alkalinity

of 7 (6.5-8) ° dH.

Always test the alkalinity in the morning and then dose Organo Calium plus!

A maximum daily dosage of 30 ml Organo CALCIUM Plus solution per 100 l net aquarium volume should not be exceeded.

A full dose of Nature Elements is usually not required during the running-in phase.

From the first coral population onwards, dose 0.5 ml / 100 l net aquarium volume every day.

The dosage is increased with the maturation of the basin to a maximum of 1 ml / 100 l net aquarium water volume per day.

If the first dose already leads the alkalinity above 8, wait until the alkalinity has fallen again, and reduce the dosage.

Start with the AQUANOPANIC system when the aquarium is running:

The changeover to the AQUANOPANIC system initially requires a little time and attention, but this pays off in terms of stability and vitality of your animals.

Determine the starting dosage for Organo Calcium Plus on the basis of your aquarium net water volume (usually about 80% of the aquarium volume) and start the dosage according to the dosage instructions until you measure a stable alkalinity of ideally 7 (6.5-8).

Start with a daily dosage of 5 ml Organo CALCIUM Plus solution per 100 l Aquarium net volume.

Increase the dosage daily by 50% of the starting dosage until you measure an alkalinity of ideally

7 (6.5-8) ° dH.

Always test the alkalinity in the morning and then dose Organo Calium plus!

A maximum daily dosage of 30 ml Organo CALCIUM Plus solution per 100 l net aquarium volume should not be exceeded.

In pure SPS aquariums with high Ca consumption, you can also increase the dosage more quickly.

Since your aquarium system already has a certain consumption of calcium and the associated hydrogen carbonate component, the alkalinity will drop sharply in the first few days.

As a rule, no negative effects were observed due to these fluctuations in alkalinity during the stabilization phase - however, if you are caring for animals that are very sensitive to alkalinity, we recommend daily balancing with sodium hydrogen carbonate. However, this is only necessary in the first few days.

Nature Elements: dose 0.5ml / 100l net aquarium water volume daily and increase the dose if necessary to a maximum of 1ml / 100l net aquarium water volume.

General information

Nutrient-Effect

Since the AQUANOPANIC system has a low nutrient-lowering effect and very few nutrients are brought into the aquarium system, especially during the running-in phase, you should keep an eye on the parameters nitrate and phosphate in addition to the alkalinity.

Verifiability should be the case with the customary tests.

If you cannot prove the two water values (Nitrate or/and Phoshate), I recommend a stocking measure with fish (provided the conditions are met, such as tank size) or, alternatively, dosage of a nutrient solution – our Stickstoff Plus (=ammonia; nitrate) or Phosphor Plus (=phosphate).

The nutrient-lowering effect is more significant on alkalinity higher than 8!

Nutrients are very important for your corals – make sure that nitrate and phosphate are available anytime!

A maximum daily dosage of 30 ml Organo CALCIUM Plus solution per 100 l net aquarium volume should not be exceeded.

Elements and Minerals

Please do not use any other additional trace element solutions or the like, as this can lead to uncontrolled exceeding of the dose of the respective elements.

Adhering to the daily dosage is of the utmost importance, since the elements contained in the solutions are in "free" ionic form and have a very high bioavailability. For example, weekly dosing of the "weekly ration" would mean a massive short-term increase in the dosed elements and cause damage to your animals.

Ideally, you should use a commercially available metering pump that you have checked for correctness before use.

Ongoing Aquarium operation

One of the basic elements for a successful reef aquarium operation is the use of high quality starting water and a balanced mixture of sea salt.

Always use tap water purified by reverse osmosis with a downstream ultrapure water filter both for the production of salt water and for refilling evaporated water.

It is also important to use a tried and tested sea salt mixture - I recommend mixing the salt thoroughly before taking it out for the first time, as vibrations on the transport route can cause solid segregation.

Pay attention to a strong skimming, monthly multi-day filtering over activated carbon as well as a good gas exchange (surface movement and not complete coverage of the aquarium).

Since all essential elements are replenished daily with Organo Calcium Plus and Nature Elements, a monthly partial water change of 10% is sufficient.

I strongly advise against combining it with other maintenance systems, as uncontrolled overdoses of certain substances can occur, which can have negative effects on the overall vitality of the aquarium.

In particular, long-term use of zeolite, biopellets or similar in combination with Organo Calcium Plus will promote a massive nutrient deficiency in terms of nitrogen-phosphorus compounds and must not be used!
